      Argon-Helium Knife Cryosurgery Therapy
      Introduction
      Argon-Helium Knife Cryosurgery, American patent of aerospace technology, is a novel technique for treatment of cancer approved by the United States' Food & Drug Administration (FDA) in 1998 and China's SFDA in 1999. Cryosurgery could also be applied to other surgical procedures including general surgery, dermatology, neurology, thoracic surgery, and so forth.

    Using imaging-guided techniques (Ultrasound, CT or MRI), cryo-probes are inserted into tumors to lower the temperature of the targeted area to -160℃ or lower. The tissue is then allowed to thaw. This process may be repeated two or three times.

    Because the doctor can focus cryosurgical treatment on a limited area, destruction of nearby healthy tissue may be avoided. The treatment may be used in combination with other therapies such as surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and immunotherapy. Cryosurgery could be an option when surgery is not possible. After cancer cells have been destroyed by cryosurgery, they are left intact. Dead cancer cells will release antigens, stimulating the immune system to eradicate any remaining cancer cells and reduce recurrence of cancer.

      Advantages of Cryosurgery
      ● It is applicable to both small and large tumors. It can lead to ablation of a single tumor or several tumors;
    ● It can be applied to tumors near large blood vessels and the trachea without damaging those blood vessels or the trachea.
    ● It is a painless operation, and it helps to reduce pain caused by cancer.
      Indications
      ● Malignant tumors: liver cancer, lung cancer and prostate cancer, renal cell carcinoma and pancreatic cancer, benign and malignant tumor of bone, adrenal carcinomas, meningioma, glioma, uterine myoma, uterine and ovarian cancer, breast cancer, breast tumors…
    ● Dermatology: hemangioma, hyperplasia, astrocytoma, wart, mucinous cyst, condyloma…
    ● Gynaecology: resection of the benign genital dysplasia
    ● General Surgery: haemorrhoids, anal fissure…
    ● Ear, Nose and Throat: resection and reduction of the oral leukoplakia
    ● Chest Surgery: irregular heart tissues
