Indication for Ambulatory Electrocardiogram(ECG) Examination

1.Evaluate symptoms that may be related to arrhythmia.

 (1) Patients with unexplained syncope, premonitory syncope or unexplained dizziness. 

 (2) Patients with unexplained recurrent palpitations. 

 (3) Patients with shortness of breath, chest pain or fatigue that can not be explained by other reasons. 

 (4) Patients suspected to occur nervous system events in an instant atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter. 

 (5) Patients with syncope, premonitory syncope, dizziness or palpitation symptoms, and has identified the reason is not arrhythmia, but after the treatment of this cause, the symptoms are still persistent. 

 (6) Patients with syncope, premonitory syncope, dizziness or palpitation symptoms, and the cause of disease has been confirmed by midical history examination, physical examination or laboratory examination. 

 (7) Other evidences for patients with cerebrovascular accident but with no arrhythmia.


2.Detect arrhythmia and determine HRV, and then assess the indication of long term cardiac events risk.

 (1) Patients with left ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction(EF≤40%). 

 (2) Patients with congestive heart failure. 

 (3) Patients with idiopathic hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.


3. Evaluate the indication for antiarrhythmic therapy. 

(1) Evaluate the individual response to antiarrhythmic drugs. 

(2) Detect the proarrhythmic effect of antiarrhythmic therapy from high risk patients. 

(3) Evaluate the ventricular rate control of atrial fibrillation. 

(4) Clinic determines the recurrence of symptomatic or asymptomatic discontinuous arrhythmias during treatment.


4. Evaluate the indication of pacemaker and ICD function.


5. Monitor the indication of myocardial ischemia. 

(1) Patients with suspected variant angina pectoris.

(2) Preoperative evaluation for surgical patients who were unable to exercise. 

(3) Patients with known coronary heart disease and atypical chest pain syndrome.


6. The indication of of health examination for healthy people.
