Founded in 2001, Clifford Hospital started with a capacity of 650 licensed inpatient beds and serves 3,000 outpatient visits per day. On October 26, 2017, the phase Ⅱ building of Clifford Hospital was officially put into operation. With 1,500 newly-added inpatient beds, the total number of inpatient beds has increased to 2,100 and will further increase to 3,000 in the future.

In China, Clifford Hospital was the first hospital accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI), the international arm of the Joint Commission (U.S.A.) that reviews and accredits American hospitals. JCI accreditation checklist includes over 350 standards, from surgical hygiene and anesthesia procedures to the systems in place to verify credentials of medical staff and nurses. JCI sends a team to survey hospitals at 3-year intervals. Clifford Hospital has achieved and maintained JCI accreditation five consecutive times with special distinction for its medical treatment, nursing care as well as hospital management.
