Dr. Peng graduated from the Third Military Medical University with a master's degree in medicine. As a thoracic surgeon at Thoracic Surgery Department of General Hospital of Guangzhou Military Command of PLA for almost 30 years, he is proficient in diagnosis and treatment of diseases in the field of thoracic surgery and specializes in surgical treatment for lung cancer, esophageal cancer and mediastinal tumor as well as integrative treatment for lung cancer and esophageal cancer. He has robust expertise in surgically treating giant tumors and local advanced tumors of the chest. As a pioneer in minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery (accounting for 70% of all surgeries he performed) in Guangdong province. He has been engaging in the study of repair and reconstruction of thoracic tissue and organ defects for 10 years, with nationally leading expertise in reconstructing thoracic wall, pericardium and diaphragm with biomaterials.

He was a part of efforts to finalize Expert Consensus on Diagnosis and Treatment of Chest Trauma and Idiopathic Spontaneous Pneumothorax initiated by Guangdong Industry Association. He has formed his unique techniques in the diagnosis and treatment for chest trauma, chest wall deformity and palmar hyperhidrosis.

He has obtained 3 research projects supported by Guangdong Natural Science Foundation and 1 Major Research Project of Guangdong Province. He has co-edited 3 medical books and published more than 10 papers.
